Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup apricot jam
- 1 tsp rose water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
- 1-2 tbsp rose water for glaze
- Dried rose petals for garnish
Instructions:
Grease a donut pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl
Combine applesauce, eggs, vegetable oil, apricot jam, rose water, and milk in a separate bowl
Mix the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until well combined
Transfer the batter into a piping bag or a zip-top bag, cutting off the corner, and pipe into the donut pan that has been prepared
Bake the donuts for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they bounce back when you touch them, in a preheated oven
After a few minutes, let the donuts cool in the pan before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling
To make the glaze, whisk together rose water and powdered sugar in a small bowl
Reposition the cooled donuts on the wire rack after dipping them into the glaze and letting any excess drip off
As a garnish, scatter dried rose petals over the top of the glazed donuts
Before serving, let the glaze set for about 15 to 20 minutes
