Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup vegan butter, cold and cubed
- 3-4 tablespoons ice water
- 4-5 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegan butter, melted
Instructions:
Before you start cooking, heat the oven to 375F 190C
Put the flour and cubed vegan butter into a food processor and blend them together
Pulse the ingredients together until they look like big crumbs
One tablespoon at a time, add ice water and pulse the food processor until the dough comes together
Put the dough on a floured surface and use it to make a circle that fits a 9-inch tart pan
Put the dough in the pan and cut off any extra
Put the apple slices, maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl
Turn the apples over until they are covered
Place the apple slices on top of the tart dough in circles that overlap
Use the vegan butter that has been melted to cover the apples
The tart should be baked for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the crust is golden brown
Wait until the tart is cool to cut and serve
